C6H14O6 ----> Sorbital is a sugar alcohol that has two thirds of the calories of regular sugar. Sorbitol doesnt effect the body until it is turned in to corn syrup that is located in foods. When it is put into foods like BBQ chips and soda pop it is highly consumed into the body, it can lead to things like dieities and obesity. The system that is effected the most is the respetory system. The Food that sorbital is mainly in, are gum, fruit, vegetables, and low calorie candies. Sorbitol is also sometimes used as a skin softener in soaps.
